Default new exhaust system

2k1 GS just startin', i've already done a couple of things, and i emphasize COUPLE. The next upgrade i'm lookin' into is a new cat-back exhaust system. Can anyone gimme some advise on some good ones out there? And maybe why they're better than some of the crap local shops in my area are tryin' to pawn off on me.

You want 2.5 inch piping(and cat) with any muffler, that would be cheaper than just buying a name brand cat back.

I like Tanabe SUPER Racing Medallion and Apex-i N1 exhaust, nice and loud.

I have an 01 GS with an aem CAI and the Apex N1 Catback Exhaust. It is the best sounding exhaust of them all if your looking for a racy tone. With vtec it can get a little whiny but wedont have to worry about that. Go with the N1

Apex N1 by far is the best exhaust.

if you can afford it, go for the n1, U will be happy.

Try the Buddy Club Spec III.

Or customize your own with Es/Magnaflow.

Apexi N1 is nice as well.

Yeah, assuming your header has a 2.5" collector. Otherwise, you'd be better off going with 2.25" tubing.

magnaflow 2.5" muffler (oval 14" length model) with 2.5" piping, paint it flat black... looks stock.... sound good when you get on it but just cruising should be quiet.

i think tanabe does. I have one on my LS and its deeper then my friends n1 on his gsr. I like the sound of his when vtec kicks in but i bet it would sound nice with the Trm also. Theyre both deep and nice sounding they just have a lil different tones. i prefer the Trm though.

What about Spoon N1 attached to ITR B-pipe. I'm gonna have this combo soon. Is it that loud?

Go check the Dyno charts. HKS is the way to go. And if you ever decide to turbo later, they are designed to handle that. I have the Hyper right now. It is kind of loud, but no body has it and the sound is unique. Plus it had the best hp numbers.
