i recently installed one of those crappy short ram intakes in the place of my stock one, i have future plans to modify it to make my own cai, but for the moment it will have to do. anyway, when i removed the stock intake on the hose between the manifold and the air box, there is another hose that was on the bottom, this hose is connected to a box with a few vaccum lines. i cant figure out what it is there for, or what i shoudl do to the hose that is now uncapped. the car has been running fine since then, bnut when i turn it off it makes a slight gasping sound. anyway, thanks in advance for any and all help.

 

That is your resonator box, and you can take that biaatch out. Here is a pic of my car and you can see that my intake goes all the way down.

The gasping noise that you are hearing, is just your intake. Nothing wrong. Mine does that as well.

what i did with my resonater chamber i took it out. get the hose that connects to the small chamber box thats hose goes almost all the way to the fire , when you get to the end of the hose pull it out and plug up the hole, there is also another hose thats leads to a small box next to the headlight i also pulled that hose out to and pluged it up

Just take it off. It's not needed. Uneccessary weight is all it is.

 

96accordex, hey what was up with your car in that pic of the gauge cluster the temp gauge was past the red!? was there something wrong at the time of pic?

 

yeah the water temp. gauge is not working. I'm getting the replacement next week in the mail
