Default What is the Fastest All-Motor 97+ Prelude you've seen?

Just curious. I have a $1,000 race with one in March. Wanted to know what my competition is capable of.

This is a street car also. No major weight reduction.

i'm guessing the fastest an all motor h22a4 on a 5th gen would be around low to mid 14's qt mile.... but that involves several thousand dollars and a shitload of hard work...

if it were turboed or supercharged with built internals 12's wouldnt be too distant.. are you sure this guy isnt boosting or squeezing?

mid 12's with no weight reduction is definetly going to be extremely hard, but I won't say impossible. more realistically I would say mid 13's.

Neither. He said all-motor. I know he haas a nitrous kit. But he won't be running it.

If He has it hooked up. I will find it.

So low - Mid 13's is about it... Then I have nothing to be worried about.

I'd be carefull with this bet. I now a guy with a silver lude running a wet 75 direct port shot of nos. This thing is fast as hell. He always is very secretive about what he's got. He would always say its allmotor with boltons. But as soon as i got to now him really well he told what he had. This year his block should be rebuilt and hes going to be rasing it to 175 shot.

What kind of car do u have?? Id bet this guy this running some sort of boost for a $1000 race.

There was one guy on po.com who was running high 13's. He had a lot of work done, other than him I have never heard of anyone running faster than me NA. I run 14.6 with I/h/e/p/vafc/clutch/flywheel. I am sure that many people have gotten a faster time, but I have never heard of any of them.

Low to mid 13's can be obtained with a 3000lb. vehicle. I am doing 2 motors myself. My JRSC along with a fully built NA machine with a 75-150 shot on top of it.

My NA build up includes:

Injen CAI
Bored TB
Skunk2 IM
Hondata gasket
Skunk2 Stage 2 cams
Skunk2 Cam gears
Skunk2 springs,retainers
Skunk2 HC valves
Head ported,3 angle valve job, port matched
10:1 forged pistons(10.5:1 CR)
Crower rods
polished and balanced crank
Mugen header
test pipe
DC Sports exhaust
AEM underdrive pulleys
UR crank pulley
AEM EMS
FJO Wideband o2 sensor
NX NXL Nossle system (75-150 shot)
JR fuel pump
AEM FF
AEM FPR
AEM fuel rail
RC 440cc injectors

I am looking to hit 220-230whp with a good sized shot on top of that. My goal is mid 13's without shot. high 12's with shot.

Any car than can run in the 13's is seriously fast. I dont think people realize that. If it runs low 13's to high 12's consistently then its REALLY FAST.

He also was running a restricitve header and cat. and exhaust. As nice as his setup was, there are plenty of gains to be made still. My setup will be running a much freer exhaust(no cat) setup along with a more agressive cam and intake design that will allow the engine to make power up close to 9k.

my engine was mid to low 13's before I broke it. That's pretty much the limit. And that's with an H23 crank with a ton more on torque

Sorry to burst your bubble Satan, but there's no way 203 whp in a Prelude would be good for low 13's. Maybe mid 13's on slicks at best probably.

I need to step in to defend satansrv here... Low 13, are possible at that hp. It will depend on the TQ and the weight of the car as well. There is another Accord I have seen that weighs in at 2375lbs and has run a 13.26 at 102 at pomona raceway (almost sea level) He has bolt ons and dynoed 196hp and 163 TQ. Granted that I am talking about an Accord instead of a Prelude, but if the car is light enough and running at sea level, the possibilities are there.
