FS/T '93 FZR 1000
I've been trying to sell my FZR for a bit now so I'm closer to picking up a B18C-R. But with winter and all, I don't see it selling anytime soon. So, with that in mind:
For sale: '93 Yamaha FZR 1000 EC. 21.5k Miles. I overhauled it 2.5k miles ago when I bought it, ran a full maintenance checkup, including adjusting the valves, replacing the rotors. The fork seals were professionally replaced about 100 miles ago.
It's not clean though. The plastic is rashed, and there's a small chunk missing in the directional hole as well as 2 cracks above it on the front fairing. Meaning, to get the thing back to "pretty", you'd probably have to replace the front fairing, and repaint the bike. The tank is fine, except a small chip in the paint up by the triple clamp.
It also needs new tires in the short term(between $120 and $300), and long term (like, within a season) probably a new CCT (about $65) and new chain & sprockets (like $150)
EDIT: You can see pictures at http://www.sportbikes.net/forums/sho...hreadid=110817
I'm asking $2750, but the price is negotiable. All the fairings & the tank can be gotten off e-bay every once in a while, prices go from $300 to $500 for the set.
If you're looking for a pretty bike, this isn't the one without a little work. If you're looking for a bike that'll go fast for cheap and comfortable, then you've found it. I've taken it up to 125mph, and it wasn't near being pegged, so I've no idea how fast it would go.
You can mail me at project_mercy@hotmail.com
P.s. This isn't a beginners bike. It has a lot of torque and weights 525 lbs wet.
