What would make my car sputter only in vtec and 100% throttle. Yes I do have enough oil. Thanks its making me mad, OH and sometimes when I shift at the same time its sputtering it backfires and throws flames out the exhaust.

i would check your timing and do a basic tune up including plugs and such

 

plugs, wires, cap & rotor.

 

I am in the process of a tune up and oil change hopfelly that fixes it. now it does it all the time in vtec though.

 

I never thought about that, My oil pan is dented pretty bad, can anybody second what he said I have never heard of that. Maybe I'm just dumb!

 

Mine does the same thing, I think my plugs are bad, I just replaced the cap, rotor, wires and I just made sure there was enough oil. I hate it, makes my car feel like a doggg.

Have you done the tuneup yet? Recheck timing and new plugs.

What are your AFC settings at? And I would DOUBLE CHECK your FPR...sounds like it's running too rich, hence the hesitation/sputtering and backfiring. If you have enough $$$, try and get it dyno tuned with a wideband O2. Butt tuning is not very accurate.

 

My fuel pressure is fine and my afc settings are vtec 4700 and fuel is -5 on every rpm until it gets to vtec rpms. The rest is stock, havent tried the tune up yet because I'm broke.
