which clutch do I go with?
ok guys, need a little help.
just order a fidanza lightened flywheel (8lb.)
I can get a stock clutch w/pp, throw out bearing, the whole spiel...for 96.50, do you think I will have any wear issues?...it is just an OEM replacement made by Exedy.
or I can get an Exedy stage 2 full face organic for about 240..
do you guys think the lightened fly will cause increased wear, I just have i/e, and plan on doing alot of auto x..my car is a 97SH
any advice would help..TIA

I have a clutchmaster stage 3 with a lightened flywheel and love it the clutch is great, If I was to do it again I wouldnt get the light flywheel. Too much wear on the clutch
Drop the extra cash and go with Clutchmasters. The best clutch period. Keeps the factory feel improves holding strength, and best of all it doesnt rock your bottom end when engaging like most other clutch companies do. CM is worth the money.

I wouldn't say so. Stage 3 (which is just a middle-line aggressive CM clutch), drove perfect and easy in daily driving. Great "sport" clutch when needed. I also made pretty good topend power. But i think the prolonged clamping of the disc/pp (which is why it is easy on the tranny and bottom end) due to the design caused elongated loss of traction. Instant on pressure plates such as ACT Extreme dont even induce the length of wheelspin/hop that i noticed, and it is even a much more aggressive clutch, from my limited experience.

Also keep in mind that a clutch is supposed to give a a lil, because if the clutch engages and rips the **** out of the driveline that is bad. In other words, if you get a clutch thats to aggressive it'll break other ****.

Honestly it all depends on the motor mods. BUt basic bolt-ons, maybe a shot of NOS I would go with a Stage 2. If you have extensive motor work done and internal upgrades with a larger shot or FI setup then Stage 3. Stage 2 rocks though. It is about 70% more clamping power over the stock clutch.
Hey guys, I am upgrading to an H22 soon and I was wondering what you think I should get?? I plan on using my car as a daily driver but will frequent autocrosses and plan to do one...MAYBE two track events. Which clutch do you guys recommend for this application??
The mods I plan on doing to the car are headers, intake, pulleys, exhaust, and maybe CAM gears
