Default hwat wrong with my new amp!

i just bought another amp off a friend and now after i hooked it up it hits like ****! its strong when the volume is low but when u crank it up, it just starts to phase out...my old amp was 200 watts 2ch. and my new one is 300 watts. 4 channel...is there any way to take the full potential of the 300 watts? damnit i knew i shouldnt have bought a 4 channel! can sumone tell me the correct way to bridge a 4 channel?? oh yeah this amp was only meant for my sub nothing else...

if you are only running 1 sub you will only be able to use only the front or the rear usually wiring diagram on amp. if you are running 2 subs you can use all 4 channels but you still may not get the full potential of the amp depending on the ohm rating of the subs

Assuming your figures are rms you will only have 75% of the power you had before. This will vary depending on manufacturer and how much power you are getting bridged. You will need another sub to use the power of the additional channel.
