Default What would make the E-Brake light stay on?

My E-brake light all of a sudden, started staying on all the time tonight. If it does go out, its only for a matter of seconds and its right back on. The E-brake is obvisouly off and the car is driving fine. No other lights in the panel are malfunctioning. What could be wrong? Here is a pic of my old car so people will want to look at this thread:

Check your brake resevoir if the brake fluid is low that will make your light come on..If thats not it, could be the switch for your e-brake.

mine does it sometimes, but only when the car is freezing, the floater in the brake fluid resivior freezes to the top and the light stays on for a while, it its only when its cold, its no big deal

Brake fluid is #1, and also the little sensor on the cap goes bad frequently.

If your brake fluid is freezing, it has too much water in it, change it out asap. Brake fluid doesnt freeze.
