I was looking around and couldn't find any numbers anywhere on the weight of the stock wheels or hood... Is 100lbs less wishful thinking? How much weight do you generally have to shave before the butt dyno notices a difference?

 

The VIS hood is not supposed to be that light, its for show.

Stock wheels weigh 16lbs.

100lbs from a hood and lightweight wheels is not going to happen.

 

You don't mention what size Slips, so I will assume they are 15".

Stock wheels weigh roughly 16 lbs.
15" Slips weigh roughly 12 lbs.

Assuming that you are using the stock RE010's (or that whatever tire you would run on the stock wheels you would also be running on the Slips) the total savings would be roughy: (4 lbs. x 4 wheels) = 16lbs.

As for the hood, when I weighed my stock one on a bathroom scale it weighed approximately 31 lbs. My FiberImages hood on the same scale weighed approx. 16 lbs., yielding a savings of 15 lbs.

Total for the hood and wheels was therefore approx. 31lbs.

I do not know the weight of a VIS hood, though the information I have read seems to indicate that it is one of the heavier CF hoods on the market. Therefore, the weight-savings of a VIS hood/15" Slip combo would almost certainly be less than 31 lbs.
