Prelude ATTS question
I am looking at 5th generation Preludes but I had a question about ATTS (Active Torque Transfer System).
What it does is transfers power to the outside front wheel while turning to help eliminate under steer - anyway, I was wondering if once you start to mod the car and it has different torque and horsepower numbers, will it make the handling different? possibly worse than without the system?

the atts system should perform the same even though you mod it but if you go turbo you will have to get rid of the system because it will not be compatible with it, i am not sure about superchargers.
The system does what you think it does but your better off spending the money (diffr3ence) on a LSD instead of the SH. Most people experence problems (see- it stops working) when people up the boost. I dont mean to rain on your day but if your still looking skip the SH and buy a base 5-speed and a LSD of your choice. It cute to have lights that shine on the ground when you open the door but its not really worth it if you can even find one.
EDIT: The system works good up to a point. Usually about 230lb/ft of torque or less. IT works good for naturally asperated though
I have enjoyed mine and it does work good but so does Quaffe.

yea thats right, if you want to go in a straight line fast, don't get the SH but if you want to take turns fast get the SH. The SH is mainly directed towards handling.
i got the jrsc on my SH and although i'm not makin over 250whp, the ATTS is workin just fine. but like everyone said, if you put down too much power to the front wheels on the SH, the atts will become dead weight once you disable it which you'll have to anyway. but from what i've read, if you're under 250whp, the ATTS is still functional. i'm waiting for my 9psi pulley which will put me over 250whp. i'll let you know how the ATTS responds to it.

ATTS works fine in autocrossing. Its the power steering that is slow. That being said, I only lost one autocross in my class all year and I had two FTD's.

when ATTS transfers power to the outside wheel when turning, how about in a straight line? do the wheels lock and spin at the same speed eliminating peg-legged burnout?
