There used to be one site with pics, but it seems to be gone.
after you remove the ashtray, there are two screws way in the back. Remove those, then the cig lighter comes out. Then 2 new ones are exposed. Remove them, and the screws on each side at the bottom rear of the console.

save urself the trouble of removing the shifter console. just stick ur head behind all that crap and u will c 2 screws. one on each side of the radio, underneath and at the corners. remove those 2 and pull it out.

Some people have done this, but it requires you to have gumby's genes to pull it off I am 5'11" and 170. I cannot do that.

im 6'1" 180 lbs. and i did this twice. to my type r and my gsr. and i dont have gumby genes. im just smart

Ive done this method ones, but if you are going for a clean install, and have a bunch of wires coming off of your HU like my pioneer does, you still have to remove everything because the half *** way doesnt work.
