Default New Clutch?

Hi Guys,

need your brains again on a problem I got, I had clutch problems the other night on the way home.
I was driving when I felt the power drop, this left me stranded and I had to have the the car towed. i can drive the car up to about 25mph but no faster, revving the engine to about 4k and above would result in a hissing noise and a build up of heat, Honda had a look at this today and said there's nothing wrong, so I took the car from them, felt ok(ish) the car I managed to get the slipping feeling about 8000 revs in 2nd gear on the way home. The cars done 26k miles

I guess the questions are:

1) Is slippage dependant on heat?

2) do I need a new clutch?

Thanks guys.

did the car overheat? what kind of heat.....ambient or vehicle temp?

Hell, it was a good guess you asked about servicing, the car had the 27k mile service done a few days earlier, i checked the list of what they've done, the transmission fluid was the nearest they got to, I don't think do do anything to the clutch during this service do they? as it didn't say.

No the car didn't overheat as such, the heat Iwas talking about came from me when I revved the car to try and limp it home, the hissing noise came on and I guess the slipping/rubbing coponent caused the heat.

with that mileage i doubt it would be your clutch if you treat it respectfully. The hissing could have been that they forgot to tighten the tranny drain, leaked out, and you were hearing the gears spinning (i dunno). Or maybe it was as simple as a vacuum line being left disconnected. if it runs fine now...amen
