Default what is your cleaning process?

What do you use to clean/wax your car/engine/wheels?
Does anyone here use a claybar?

How much time do you spend doing it?
Im thinking of spending this entire weekend cleaning my car. I just wonder what does everyone use? Zaino, NuFinish, Meguiars, etc.....??

Thanks

i dont have a preference on car wash liquid..i just use whatever is cheap..and i used to wash my car a lot...like 2 or 3 x a week..but now i just do it when i have time...but i always try and keep my interior clean.

if i wash my whole car, inside and out it normally takes me 2 hrs or more

I usually wash my car once a week, with Meguires Gold Class soap, it's not very expensive, seems like it's always on sale at Kragen, and it works very well, dry it with an Absorber. If it's time to wax (every 2 or 3 months), I usually use Meguires Gold Class or Cleaner/wax with a polish. Only needed to use clay once or twice on my rear bumper for all the test pipe shrapnel that clings to the bumper. I've always used Meguires, there's alot of other better, more expensive products available, but I've always been pleased with their products. Wheels are powdercoated black, so just car soap and water is all that's needed. I always use tire dressing - been using Meguires Endurance lately, cause it was free at the Del Mar showoff

i start off by getting all the gunk off the wheel/wells and underbody with the hose
then with dishwashing soap, i wash the side skirts, the wheels, and muffler, everything that is low
after that i wet the body down and dirt off. i wash with Eagle One soap (some red liquid) dry off with Absorber.....then vaccum and clean windows......about 1 hour total..........

i work at a car dealership and sometimes "borrow" their products for my car. they use auto-magic products that are just as good as meguiars/mothers if not better.
first i use a non acid wheel cleaner on everything, from the wheels, to the body, to the engine, and even the undercarriage. then pressure wash. then after that simply wash with a clean mitt. then rinse and while still wet, clay it down with a fine grade claybar and spray down the engine bay w/ a armor all type spray. then dry the car w/ a chamois and the doorjambs w/ a reg. towel. buff if needed and wax. total time about 1.5 hrs. w/ help from the detail kids w/ a promise to buy them lunch.

Might want to be careful with the dishwashing soap, it's made to strip grease from pots/pans, not safe for auto paint surfaces. Watch out if you're splashing it around while cleaning your muffler/wheels.
