Default Dealership Totaled friends Lude! :o

this girl that i work with needed new seatbelts for her car. So i told her to go to honda and get them for free since that is hondas policy. They said that her car was done and when they went to pic it up the found it like this!

apparently the kid that was bringing it around back had the clutch pop on him or something and slammed it into the back of a 2003 civic They gave her a 2003 accord to drive untill she gets another car. (AWESOME car! ) And when i talked to her yesterday she said that the car is totaled and they are offering her 2000 dollars for it!

edit: doesnt look like much but this is a 1988 prelude, that has been beaten to death...there was also some slight damage to the radiator

fine do i dont know my prelude generations.....shed up!!!

cHeCk OuT dA tRi-StArS yO!

I hate picking my car up from the dealership. They always leave the damn thing in gear, and I NEVER leave it in 1st or 3rd when I park; always Neutral. The last time I picked it up they left it in first, so of course I hopped the damn thing when it started up. The jackass salesman standing near by had the nerve to say "glad that's not my office in front of you." I wanted to get out and deck the ******, but I calmed down and said "Well if your mechanics wouldn't leave my car in gear I wouldn't be doing that" and then drove off. Stupid asses That's probably exactly how your friend's car got totalled.

Why do you park in gear? Aside from reasons like being on a very high grade hill or something?

I never do, and I hate when I pick my car up, and it's in gear, with the Ebrake pulled to the mother F'n ceiling of my car, so far that after i try to engage it again, it won't hardly engage.

Why would you NOT park it in gear? Do you park it with the e-brake disengaged as well? I really wouldn't call that parked.

Mine's sorta that way. I put a DEI 551R on mine (basic remote start)... used the "special output" wire off the DEI to my clutch switch, so the clutch gets by-passed only when it's remote started. if you hop in with the key and try w/o pushing in the clutch, it's a no go. good for those people who park my car and leave it in gear (parking lot attendents and such) who might forget to push the clutch when they start it

well you really should always park in gear, ebrake has been known to fail. one time i drove to a friends house pulled up to his drive way, pulled the ebrake up forgot to put in gear, when i got out, the car started rolling down driveway almost hitting a mailbox, turns out i pulled the ebrake up but not all the way up.

I've never heard of Honda replacing seatbelts for free.
I wonder if they'll do that over here in NZ...
I've been meaning to buy new front seatbelts, since the driver's side one doesn't retract properly. (Have to pull it then let go for it to retract.)

i used to park in gear, but no longer do so, since i have a turbo timer to keep the car running, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to leave it in gear

8. Ive been at a honda dealership when the employees thought no one was around. They were redlining and smoking tires on a 0 miles civic and whipping the car around the lot.
Which dealership was this and when?

i leave my car in gear because it's less of a chance that it will move even wtih the e-brake up.
