2003 ITR Expo: Will anyone let me co-drive their ITR?
I have come to the conclusion that I AM going to the 2003 ITR Expo, it is just that it is too far for me to drive poor ole 98 #406 to Pennsylvania. I did attend ITR Expo 2001 at Buttonwillow, but my car was in the process of getting rebuilt so 98 #406 was not able to attend that expo. For the 2002 ITR Expo in Michigan, I had just started a new job and was not in a position to take a week off to drive from Utah to go to an ITR Expo. This year, I will attend, REGUARDLESS, but I was wondering if any of you fellow kind hearted ITR owners would allow me to co-drive their car at the 2003 ITR Expo. I know it is alot to ask, so I understand if no one will accept. For some backgound info:
26 Years Old
Married w/ 1 child
ITR Owner since 1999
Very Clean Driving Record
I Auto-X at UTAH SCCA Events
Well, to keep this short, I am willing to cover any of the costs for maintainence to co-drive an ITR at the Expo. I also work at an Import Tuning/Performace Shop here in Utah and am willing to buy a mod for the car that I will co-drive. Any takers? I am available on here or at jp@moderngarage.com. Thanks.

I would discourage you from doing this, really. The chances of something happening are probably slim, but IMO, don't take the risk.

Understandable. That is why I totally understand if no one is interested. I really only want a few laps of track time. There is noting close to a road corse track here in Utah. I did get to take one lap in my friends ITR at 2001 ITR Expo #1, but it was during a break, and the only allowed us to go under 30MPH. It was a tease.
If you don't have enough money sitting in a bank account to buy a replacement ITR, then don't even think about this.

if you wreck the borrowed itr:
1) owner will be pissed your broke as a **** and he's stuck with the bill
2) he would probably fly to utah to assasinate you

What kind of Mod would you be willing to buy? [/scratch autofix]
Your "sabbatical" didn't last very long!

Just drive it, or rent a U-haul truck and 2 wheel trailer. It would be alot less to do that then it would replacing someones ITR if you wrecked it. Plus you can bring your wife and kid and turn it into a summer trip and enjoy the cross country drive.
J.P. J.P. all this talk about us towing our itrs out to the expo and now you are trying to back out. Well, if I can still get my car out there you can drive it around during the 30mph limit break again.
It's not all that bad, after all he will already be well acquainted with driving an ITR, and these areen't going to be races.
I know this isn't the same but your welcome to ride "shot-gun" in my car for a session.
Are you in the Advanced group or the Instructor group?

I believe Mattj is instructing, so he is permitted to take passengers.
