Euro-R accord or Accord Type-R H22a trannies are the best for acceleration:

Euro-R/Type-R Tranny:
1st: 3.285 61km/h (7400rpm => 4708rpm) [64km/h (7800rpm => 4963rpm)]
2nd 2.090 96km/h (7400rpm => 5244rpm) [101km/h (7800rpm => 5527rpm)]
3rd 1.481 135km/h (7400rpm => 5351rpm) [142km/h (7800rpm => 5640rpm)]
4th 1.071 187km/h (7400rpm => 5610rpm) [197km/h (7800rpm => 5913rpm)]
5th 0.812 246km/h [259km/h]
Final 4.266

4th gen is also good with a shorter first gear

M2B4 = LSD
M2F4 = Non LSD
Final Drive: 4.266
I : 3.307
II: 1.950
III: 1.360
IV: 1.034
V: 0.787
Rev: 3.00

5th gen

1st - 3.285
2nd - 1.956
3rd - 1.344
4th - 1.034
5th - .787
rev. 3.
Final 4.266

Both Pro Drive ( http://www.prodriveusa.com ) and Houseman Autosport ( http://www.housemanautosport.com ) will make you a custom H22A final drive gear to your specs.

No the higher the number, the shorter the gear. The 5th gen has a slightly shorter 2nd gear than the 4th gen, but barely...

I founf some ratios for some accord F series trannies that would probably work...i mean you're trying to select gears that maximizes the powerband of your graph right?

Like I wouldn't mind the 5th gear from the S model hehe...

http://www.honda.co.jp/factbook/auto.../ac93-023.html

The F18, F20 and F22 JDM motors all have a 1.483 2nd gear for their auto trannies. I don't know anything about trannies, but I'll guess that you could use this as a 3rd gear, even though its auto?

Correct me if I'm wrong...

Yes they are, Accord Type-R as well.

Could you tell me the rpms you make peak hp and peak tq in the F20b? Or e-mail your dyno graph to jbycraft.hba2002@ivey.ca thanks.

The M2F4 is the 4g prelude VTEC tranny. Are you sure on the 5th gear ratios between the M2F4 and the 5g manual tranny? I thought the 5g had a taller 5th gear. Can someone with a 5g manual post what rpm their engine is at in 5th gear on the highway going like 60 or 70 mph? I've been trying to find out if a taller 5th gear can be swapped into a M2F4 tranny for cruising on the highway with the engine at a lower rpm. I know the 5th gear from a 4g Prelude S will not fit. I think the S tranny is the same as the accord trannies, so that won't work either. Has anyone successfully done this????
