Default OT: Airbag Question......

I have sold two airbags and was told from a source that is illegal to ship them b/c of the chance of them deploying while being handled by a shipping company. At the dealership I work at, I know when new airbags are shipped they come in boxes marked "explosive" and other warnings and it costs an arm and a leg to ship.

Anyone ever ship airbags in normal packaging?
Thanks in advance.........

I think you answered your own question already. Airbags have explosives, and this in particular isn't the time to try shipping anything explosive without proper labeling etc. Call UPS or someone, see what options they have perhaps.

Steve, did you ever figure out how to ship airbags legally?

Not that I condone the shipping of 'explosives' but I've had 2 airbags shipped to me without a declaration of the contents. Most of the time, you can label them as 'car parts' under 'steering wheel' or 'dash cover'. It is not like you have any bad intentions.
