I had a stock clutch put in when i put my ZC in a couple months ago. It grabbed pretty good for the first few months but then started to slip. What do you guys think about honda clutches?
honda clutches are great for a minimal pressure, grocery getter. they last a long time under those circumstances. i am still running the stock clutch on my B16, i plan on getting an exedy sometime.
i am keeping the stock clutch also(on my b16)...how long and how much abuse
have yall given yours???...the dx honda clutch lasted 12 years when my aunt drove it....they last

my stock clutch on my B16 would definitely chirp third, then i ditched the 13" steelies in favor of 15" C-8's, they would slip a little into third, not as noticeable as before. then i put in some stock del sol vtec cams, and it would chirp into third, but only with another person in the car. i think the added would have more inertia, as in the car wanted to stay where it was during a shift, rather than continuing to accelerate. ( i have never taken a physics class yet, so i will apologize to those that can see through my B/S explanations.) haha
stock clutch works ok, just want a damn exedy already! or an ACT street/strip setup.

If you want a stock clutch, get the Clutchmasters Stage 0. It's their stock replacement, OE quality grabs great and is less than a Honda kit.

I heard you can bolt in a stock clutch from like a 92+ civic and its a little bigger and better (must use 92+ flywheel i think, maybe someone can back me up on this). But right now i'm saving for a centerforce dual friction, so thats what i'd recommend.

I just scammed a 94 EX clutch from work and put it in my 89 si...(with a 90/91 flywheel...same as a 5th gen) and yes, it is a hair bigger. I had been slipping on a stock crx clutch with 40K on it and wanted to give it a try. NO BETTER....I run 9 psi on my y8 and it slips whenever I get on it. I have a heavy duty pressure plate and the hybrid street disc coming to me in the mail....I hope that'll soolve my problem.
Autozone type clutch/pressure plate.
No problems, only minor slips when it's cold.
I have run it for a year now... uber-autocrosses/road races.

Just installed an ACT heavy duty plate with 6 puck disk into my lsvtec. chatters like a ****, pedel effort is very very hard, but grabs like a ****
cant recall right now.. and cant find it on my papers.... but i beleive the honda stock clutches hold 750-950 PSI range....
under continuous streess honda clutches are not very friendly.. the springs that disipate the torque tend to get loose and give u a non adecuate grip..
i would stick to a CM stage 2 clutch.. they hold about 1500 psi and they are great for punishement... droove it and thats what ill be getting with tax money...

well when i did my b16 swap i could squeal 2nd and chirp 3rd after time it was only chirping 2nd. put in my act 6 puck with extreme presure plate i has small squeal in 3rd and chirps in 4th...i also had very shitty tires.
back to the sizing... the 90-91 has a little more surface area than the 88-89, when my clutch was swapped they swapped in a light weight flywheel for a 90-91 in my 89 and got the bigger clutch... and it works really well... heh with my 13's on i could break loose going into 3rd, or i could hook up in first go to about 5 grand driving normal punch it and break em loose... now that was fun heh
