throwing a code that doesnt make sense...
some of you know of my electrical woes. my lights are dimming hella bad, my tach gets jumpy, my stereo flicks on and off.
i thought it was just a bad ground, and that i'd just have to look for it. today i decided to see if i was throwing codes.
i threw a code 17 which is vehicle speed sensor. could this have anything to do with it? any help is appreciated
i did a search.

Not having your speedo cable plugged in will cause the code since the sensor is in gauge cluster. Have you tested your alternator to make sure that it is putting out enought voltage? Funny thing is, when my alternator went bad, my ecu (pr3) gave out the same code. I replaced my gauge cluster and alternator at the same time, so I don't know if the two were related in anyway.

17 could be alot of things.. it could be a loose connection on the back of your gauge cluster, or even a missing screw back there.

In the event it is a bad ground, try adding another ground from the battery to the chassis. If that fixes it you know you have a bad ground somewhere, if it doesnt you know your woes are elsewhere.
