Anyone have the specs on the Euro R/ATR transmission?
What are the gear ratios for this transmission? Is it a 4.26 final drive like the other H22a transmissions? This information seems very difficult to get a hold of.
Has to be for the 1999-2001 H22A powered ATR.
anyone?
Thanks,
mark

There is very little information there and it only applies to the 2003 Accord. I need the ATR from 1999-2001. I don't know if there was an ATR in 2002.

I am thinking that maybe the final drive from this transmission is higher than the normal 4.26 found on all other H22a transmissions. Does anyone have a reliable source that can provide the correct information regarding this? Also, in the Sport Compact car article back in August, they said it had 10-17% shorter gearing, which is what i want to know as well. I'd rather get a hold of a complete transmission with shorter gearing and higher FD, than spend the money on just a final drive.
Anyone?

just by looking in gran turismo it says is a 3.000 which is really crappy. i should know in a few months what it really is.

Thanks Joel. I guess the only added benefit of the Euro R tranny is the helical LSD and the beefed up synchros.
Thanks for the christmas gift! (the gear ratio info)

Well 2nd and 3rd gear are better than even 4th gen ratios

"Well 2nd and 3rd gear are better than even 4th gen ratios"
Yes, that is true. I might as well stay with my tranny and maybe later on do the 4.714 final drive and maybe modify 2nd and 3rd gears to make it more interesting.

Joel:
Could we say that with a 4.714 FD in an H22A it could somewhat compare to an ITR with the 4.785 FD? Sun Dang had the 4.714 FD in his 1998 Prelude and loved it.

I think 4.7 is waaaaaay too much for an H22a if you ever drive on the highway...
I look at it like this...look at the ITR gear ratios...they are super close to Euro-R and ATR ratios....and FD is 4.2666
1st 3.230
2nd 2.105
3rd 1.428
4th 1.107
5th 0.848
Reverse 3.000
Final Drive 4.400
It has a 4.4 final drive stock...which I guess people put to 4.7...
I guess you could...but I think driveability would suck.

Back from the dead,
I have come across a spare h22a tranny with a shot second gear that cost me nothing to pick up. I was thinking about rebuliding it to be pretty beffy in addition to swaping out the 4th gen gears (which are shot) with the ATR stuff. Any one know where I could order the gear sets? Try a jdm importer or otherwise? Also on the synchro question I would like to know if any one has found any thing stronger than the stock stuff. For that matter other than the varrious lsd's out on the markets for the H tranny does any one make aftermarket stuff to drop in the gearbox?

I don't think all the gears are swappable like that...some, not all
ATR = UK
Euro-R = JDM

Some have claimed that the vtec h gears are swapable with other vtec H gears but it ends there. So basicly the best setup it seems would be to have the full atr/euror gears since the FD are the same according to these specs I found at H22a.org
(H22a) 1)3.307 2)1.950 3)1.360 4)1.071 5)0.871 FD) 4.266
ATR/Euro R 1)3.285 2)2.090 3)1.481 4)1.071 5)0.870 FD) 4.266
Granted the above numbers could be worng, I didnt have much time to search due to only being able to do a quick check this early in the monring at work.

Well I just reliazed that 5th gear seems to be differnt between the atr and euro r from the above numbers. Looks like the Euro R is better off for a "short" 5th gear.

Those numbers aren't right. The 5th ratios are different but the euro-r the one I have is .812, type-s 5th gear. Nice and long for that highway cruising...I can hit 160mph...if I wanted to.
I thought at least the 1st gear was part of the shaft?
