Just got my OEM kit together, got a couple questions.
As you can see I need to have it repainted.
My question is should I take those black rubber strip things off? My car is silver and I think that they might stand out to much.
Also where can I get another ones of these...
its for the rear lips, I lost 1 of them.
Also how exactly do you install the rear lips, i have the pattern...
Remove the rubber lining. Most people who have this kit, removed it.
Check dealer, they will have it for sure.
Otherwise look at your local hardware store. Might be an adventure searching for it though.
Did you not get the instructions?
You need to drill a few holes and the instructions contain the pattern (I believe)
Oh yeah, when are you getting them painted/installed?
Be sure to post pics. I wanna see them!!
Edit: Just curious how much does the total kit weight?

How many of these kits do you have? I've seen posts left and right about you having oem kits. Did you just call every Acura dealership in America and order from whoever has them left?

IMHO it would look better w/ the black rubber on it. My dad's red 2002 TRD Tacoma has fiberglass fender flares with a little rubber piece along the edge where it meets the body. I don't think it would look as good w/o it.
I have a Taffeta White GS-R with the OEM kit. I didn't remove the Black lining, and it looks fine. I get compliments all the time.
It keeps the rain and water out of your skirts and rear dress.

i just took mine off...i figure they would prolly take them off when they paint anyway? i dunno
well anyway, the kit goes to the paint shop today, should have pix real soon

the whole purpose of them is to set a nice seal up against the paint once you install them. it gives you a scratch free contact point for the body.
no they would tape the edges just like any other item they paint. do you think they pull your windows out when they are gonna paint your car? no they tape them off and if they do a bad job then you probably brought it to maaco. honk honk!!
to late, i already pull them all off, and am going to the paint shop right now
well I'd highly suggest you get them back on there before you stick them onto the car, or else you're going to have one nice set of straches if your kit ever comes off.
i just droppped the kit off at mobworks, should be done by monday, ill post pics when i get it. i even saw a fellow HTers teg at mob today
I just found out he kinda stole my lip from the dealership i was buying it from...
Now the dealers are being a pain in the ***!
I dont know why you went and got 2. Should've just taken the one you needed and left the other one for me.
So much for trying to help fellow HT'ers out.
