hi, i got into an accident with a drunk driver and one of my brakes got damaged so i figure i might as well upgrade now...

I want to go bigger, i have a 89 crx dx with 16 inch rims. about how big can i go and what brands and where can i find them?

 

You could go jdm sir like i did, or get a kit from http://www.FASTBRAKES.com which goes to I think 11 inches from using your existing caliper depending on how bad your damage is.

yah fastbrakes are dope but expensive.. you can get some brembo blanks for pretty cheap and tey are good or get some x-drilled or some slotted rotors if you want a little upgrade.. i have slotted and i like them.. there is a good amount less brake fade.. but they suck when its cold, cause of the metal master pads!

 

Yea, I had poweslots, neuspeed SS lines, and axxis metalmasters.... stopped good enough for the street I'd recommend it.

 

ok fastbrakes are looking good right now..... i dunno if my car is really worth fixing though..... from what i see so far, the rack and pinion looks #@^@*#$. hopefully theres not much more damage, but from what i hear, if the rack and pinion is screwed everything else is probably screwed....

anyways thanks for the help guys... if you know anything about changing the rack and pinion and the cost and what else to look for thats probably broken please let me know.

 

A great stock brake upgrade is the 90-91 civic EX knuckles. 10.3 inch rotors and bigger pads. They bolt right on and are relatively inexpensive. While your at it grab some SS lines and some decent pads. Make sure to bed the pads correctly otherwise braking performance will suck. Good luck!
