Default CRX EF8 glasstop roof conversion

Has anyone converted their us crx to a glasstop? The only ef8 glass roof I have found would be like $1000 shipped Once you have the roof, can you just take it to a shop and tell them to weld it on?

I also dont see why it would be out of the question to make your own glass roof out of an old windshield or something. After watching so much Monster Garage it seems like you can do just about anything Anyone know of someone who made their own glass roof?

Peace

Im sure it can be done, with lexan. But to have a perfectly shaped roof made of glass would cost you enough to ship a few Sir's with glasstops from Japan. People have welded the Sir glasstop to their crx's, so Its possible. $1000 sounds crazy though, Im sure you can find a better price.

make sure to find one w/o any cracks.. Many glasstops are cracked when they are removed.

1000 shipped isn't bad at all.
