think I did bad, speedo and odo not working
eh, I just finished my clutch and struts and got it all back together. Car feels great but my speedometer and odometer are not working. Do these run off the same cable? The speedo cable is pushed in as far as it can go, but I made a mistake, before I found out not to on here, and removed the little plate thing next to where the cable goes in while I was dropping the tranny.
Is there anything I can do?
thanks
Joe

you need the plate on the tranny as well as the clip that holds the speedo in the tranny case. if you don't have either of these, the cable might have come out of the case.
yea everything is right now, but it still doesn't work..
I have a feeling the speedo gear fell into the tranny when I removed that plate. In this case what would I have to do?
"Disconect the speedometer cable from the tranny. There is a small clip near the base of it, once removed the cable will pull out. Do not remove the bolt that looks like it holds it together, this could result in the speedo gear falling into the tranny."

you have to make sure the speedo cable actually clips in. i doubt your speedo gear fell into the tranny.
rotate the speedo cable while putting it into the hole until it really clips in there like its supposed to.
i had the same problem, what i did was take the whole thing out (10mm on B series/ use vice grip on D tranny), hooked up the speedo cable then put it back into the tranny.
