ITR lip help
Hey
I have a question regarding painting the ITR lip. I had my lip painted a few 3 months ago and ive noticed now that i have so much rock chips all over it. I was wondering if i had a better paint job would that have helped or are rock chips unavoidable when you repaint something and it isnt original paint??
Also has anyone tried putting on the 3M film that protects against rock chips on an ITR lip?? is it possible?? does it work....
thanks for any insight into this matter
When I had my lip repainted I made sure they added a Flex additive to the paint.... Supposedly it makes the paint less brittle and prone to chipping, and should probably be used on any (rock) vulnerable front body piece. (No chips on mine after one year!
)
)
I work on custom cars and the additives are the way to go 3M turns yellow and is pretty tacky I have a MUGEN lip on my 5th Gen civic and we have the additives and a hell of alot of clear coats so the paint isnt the part getting chipped..... so good luck and hope this helps you out a little.
thanks for the reply guys...i think i got a crap paintjob..then...cuz i got mad rock chips that sucks...ah well time to repaint it in the spring....so its the flex additive huh....aight ill go look around for a reputable shop
