Internal Engine Casting Flash
Is there any benefit to removing internal engine casting flash while I've got yhe engine torn down?
I'm building a B20 for boost (new rods, pistons, rings, cams, etc.) I've removed all the external cast flash and am sending it for a dip in the acid tank before the rebuild and paint. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Its not necessary, in fact why would you dip it in acid? I think you would do more harm than good. Especially if your going to paint it afterward. That just holds heat better.
It's purely cosmetic.............. I started out removing the flash to make the engine cleaner. Like the saying goes "Paint can only cover so much. The better the base the better the final product." The reasoning behind the acid dip is to save all the degreasing work required before paint. The dip won't hurt the engine. All the internals are out. Once it comes out of the tank it looks brand new.
