I was wondering if anyone knew how to tell the difference between the imitation and the authentic Spoon front lip for the DC2.

the weave is different. Spoon weave is very small, weave like VIS is larger. That is one way to tell.Also the amount of gloss on the cf will tell you which one is fake

 

Weave size, PRICE TAG.

 

I've found one for 300 bucks brand new. How big is small compared to a big weave? How much gloss is too much or not enough? Is there anything more definate or any markings on it?

a lip is a lip if your using it for its intended purpose then you would'nt care about how much gloss is on there.

you have to figure that the lip is the lowest thing to the ground and they were'nt built to last.

if you cant tell the diffrence why should we.

 

I want to know the difference so that I don't get ripped off by liars who claim one thing and sell you another. I don't know about anyone else, but I hate being lied to and getting taken advantage of.

None of my Spoon parts ever came in a box with English warnings and description. If that matters any.

that's right !! but wut's the point buy the Spoon lip? does that make ur car faster? for performance parts might get spoon or mugen but not the cosmetic stuff !!

 

I haven't personally ever seen a Spoon part that didn't come in the traditional blue and white Spoon box...

 

The seller is claiming that that is not the original box it came in. I know this doesnt increase any performance. If all I wanted was performance I wouldn't even bother with a JDM front end.

my friend DC2R JDM front end looking for this lip for long time..

 

Is is obviously NOT the spoon lip because the fiberglass is black rather than the whitish yellow spoon uses. No one else that I know of uses that.

I hope the person you are buying it from is not saying that it is a spoon lip. Plus I believe he stole the pic too because that was a pic from a H-T member here.

 

He does claim that its the exact Spoon lip like the one on Inlinefour.com. Its from a kid that I know in Arlington, TX.

 

Do not buy the lip.

Thats not real..I have an EK spoon lip..The weave is much smaller. But who cares..for $300, u have a C/F lip. Trust me, it hurts much less if u crack a $300 lip over a $600 Spoon Lip.

 

Ill get a imitation for $300.

thats not a spoon lip but it looks almost the same! It also doesnt come in a box that looks like that and it comes wrapped in a SPOON bag!THe weave on the SPOON is smaller and up and down and also has overlapping layers on each side next to the ducks! If i didnt get the SPOON one I would get one from BENEN..they make good stuff too! Look at my pics link to see what the real one looks like! also a lip is a lip! u can **** up the SPOON lip just as easier as the any other... cf looks nice regardless...GOODLUCK
