To evryone on this board I just wanted to say don't forget
during all this holiday rush to stop & thank God for all the
wonderful things we are trully blessed with in this awesome
country. It is so good that we can have a mess. board like
this to share our thoughts, ideas, opinions &, even our
differences on our common interests. My prayer is that You
may all since the love of God in this time of the year &
have the best Christmas you have ever had! Don't forget,
-HE- is the reason for the season!!!!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS &
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

Actually, some long-dead Roman Emperor is the reason we celebrate December 25th. I believe it was Constantine.

December 25th was a popular pagan holiday at the time. In order to make the transition to Christianity more palatable to Ancient Romans many Christian holidays were celebrated on days that had previously been pagan holidays.

It is believed that Jesus was most likely born sometime in mid-September.

Merry Christmas nonetheless.

Somewhat correct, as it was Helios. However, as said in my post above, we celebrate the 25th as his birthday.
