Do I need new NGK's?
Hey all. I was riding the other day. After about 20 miles, my bike stopped responding like it was supposed to. I was losing throttle response. At first I thought I was out of fuel, then I thought forgot to turn the fuel valve on, but that wasn't it. What is causing my bike to hesitate when squeezing the throttle. It feels like she is only running on two sparks instead of four. Do I need new ones? A tune-up? Valve adjustment? Timing chain? What is up. Please help
Replaced the NGK's with like OEM's. An estimate of $400.00 later, it turns out it was my fuel system. Needed carbs cleaned and bike was running too rich. Previous owner had the gas tank "creamed" and therefore some of it was coming off and clogging the fuel system. Of the $400.00, also will get a tune-up, new chain and sprocket kit, new cam chain tensioner and fuel petcock. Can't wait to ride her again. They told me I won't have the bike back for 2 weeks.
sorry I didn't see this till now, I would have suggested your carbs were fouled. For $400 though, that's a pretty decent deal. 2 Weeks isn't too bad for shop around Christmas though.
