Default doing a clutch change, pls help

eh, i'm in the middle of my clutch install, got the tranny dropped and the disk and pressure plate off. Does the flywheel have to be resurfaced? The car has about 110k on it and its never been done. The side you can see looks fine.
Whats the purpose of resurfacing a flywheel? What happens if it isn't done?

I have to finish this tommorow.. and can't find anyone that does it. Anyone got
any help?

** I'm also fixing my pass side axle while i'm at it. I purchased 2 in the past for my sisters crx and they have a lifetime warranty. I took my pass side one from my civic and took it up there and got a replacement for free because they dont know I have 2 91s. Its a 26 spline, which was what I bought for my sis 91 crx. Is it going to fit my 91 civic, same # of splines?

thanks
Joe

I gotta run to the honda dealership and pick up some mtf and the rear center bushing on my rear lower arm (thing the strut fork connects to). I had to do some cutting on my old struts to get that lower arm off cuz the bushing was shot and the metal sleeve inside would just turn. Will the old bushing need pressed out or is that something I could just do myself?

you can get the bushing out yourself, but you need to torch the rubber part of the bushings, then cut a little groove in the metal ring attached to the control arm. then you can use a screwdriver to hammer it out.

or you could just get it pressed out and a new one pressed in.

yea, thats what I'm doing. Found a place to resurface the flywheel for $35 and the bushing pressed in for $10. To bad the damn bushing w/ bolt ran me $35 at the dealership.. ah well could be worse.

later

u couldve spent 130 and had a full energy poly bushing kit---installable in a day with access to a press----and your car would be waaay less mushy----that kit is a great cheap mod to your suspension.
