I'm trying to figure out turbo will be best for my frankstein setup so i can produce 450 whp. I was thinking T3/T04E ballbearing with ceramic blades but not sure what trim i should get?
i hope you built up your internals.... if so, 60-1
if not, i have a t3/t4e ball bearing at 60 trim and im making 250 hp on stock internals....
have you ever felt boost before? its not something you wanna jump into....

for the turbine housing or the compressor housing or for both .60 trim i'm new to this turbo thing just tryign to piece my own kit together to put on my franksteind
ok... you have a frankenstein PRELUDE????????
and you want 450 hp??
450 hp on a turbo lude will cost you abotu 10k
i dont knwo where or why or how you would put a frankenstein on a lude, but thats more money
i hope youre rich

yes i have a frankstein lude with a h22 on a h23 with je pistons and rings with a ferrea value train. blueprinted and balenced ported and polished. with lower compression to 9.8 to 1 with type s cams
450 hp on a turbo lude will cost you about 10k
i hope youre rich

the works cost the money but if you got friends who own a shop that will do it for free it helps out. plus cost on parts. type s cams are cheap till skunk 2 turbo cams come out.

how won't they work cams are cams. my freind has a prelude with the same engine i have with lower compression and type s cams cuz he wants ferrea cams and it runs over 500 hp so maybe you should learn and know what you are talking about. he does have a turbo but a big one and i don't want to have one that takes a whiloe to spool up and don't feel like using nitrous to help spool

i'm still switching the cams with the skunk when they come out type s works i'll send you a copy of my boys dyno to prove it.
Have you heard of the term "blow by". No that's not slang for the hooker you met last night!
If you got type s cams for a more aggressive profile that's fine for a NA motor but its not good for a turbo motor! The larger lobes allow for more air to enter the chamber on a NA motor, but when your are pushing it through the chamber via a turbo then you will actually be loosing power. I'm not saying that type s cams are all bad, but they do have a purpose and that purpose it is not to improve your turbo motor, its purpose is to give rich people something to blow their money on.

i dont know, but i know its higher than the USDM, and it is DEFINATELY higher than your lowered compression
The "Type-S" has a 11:1 compression (not turbo friendly). Hey fastlude, you said that you put in some JE pistons and rings.....did you resleeve? If not I wouldn't even bother slapin the turbo on there until you do or go back to your stock pistons.

i'm not sure what kind my friend did that and i guess that the sleaves and piston in a h22 are coated with something to help wiht friction and that when you replace pistons that you have to recoat them at least thats what he heard so he did it. to help it not have friction. supposly it wears off aftermarket sleeves and piston after like three years so you should recoat them not sure though. he read it someone where
As long as you got an aftermarket sleeve you should be fine with the JE's. The "FRM coating" on the stock sleeves is actually Fiber Reinforced Metal that the sleeves are made out of. Forged pistons will literally eat those sleeves up within a couple months, then comes the blow-by. The bottom line is if you go with forged pistons it is HIGHLY recommended that you resleeve. If you stick w/ stock pistons you can stick with the stock sleeve. Good luck man.
