Do you get water inside?
Since its been raining here in so cal for a couple days, I noticed my carpet behind the passenger seat is soaked. My interior is stripped in the back, is that whats causing this to happen? The water from driving is getting in somehow...and No I didnt drive in any big puddles. Mostly freeway 80 miles or so....driving slow because I shitty tires.
I also get water behind the passenger seat.. and its extremely difficult to track down. I first started by clearing the drain tubes for the sunroof. Problem was still there. I then checked to make sure the sunroof was draining correctly, by running a TON of water into the tray with the sunroof open.. that wasnt the problem.
My best guess at this point is that its a body seam.. but i dont know where. I spoke with the a-tech at the local honda dealer who said when they cant track down a leak they send it to a local body shop that specialized in hondas. 90% of the time, it is a body seam that needs to be caulked. I'll be trying this next.
As for the other guy with water in the spare tire well, remove the tail lights, and run some silicone sealant around the foam seals. They are probably dried out.

Ya after it rains a lot my passenger side floor gts soaked w/ water! I have know idea where it comes from. I think there is probly a hole somewhere. I will probably pull the carpet one of these days and look for it.
My trunk gets water in my Civic. The doors have water on the sills when I open them sometimes but I think thats because my black rubber window things are sort of fucked.
I got water in the back of my hatch for a while. When I decided to put a new subfloor/sub in the back, I started looking around the hatch area. Where the spare tire secures is a possible problem, also, where the plastic pieces in the back go into the floor seemed to be leaking. Don't know if that will help you, just some places to check.

i asked honda about this very problem in my CRX. He said 2 possible places.....1. Under the black strip that seperates the roof from the door, honda used a puddy to seal the seam under that strip so they didnt have to weld all the way along the door. This will dry and crack letting in water to the rear compartment, the water runs along the inner roof panel and comes out of the opening were the hydralic arms connect to the car. 2. a less possible place is the seal at the hatchback window washer nozzel on the roof of the car.

Some issues and fixes I have seen over the years....
Sunroof leaking water "usually if you clean out the crap where the water drains out fixes this issue.
Civic hatches side windows leak "Open the windows and clean the rubber"
Trunk leaks, open the trunk and where the tailights attach fill with silicon, fixed my water issue.

I'm a little unclear where this is. Are you talking about the black rubber strip on the outside of the car that looks almost like a rain gutter? If that is the spot, is the solution to pull it up, recaulk it, and replace the strip?
Thanks!
