My car has been squeaking resently, mainly under the hand-brake area and passenger seat? why does it squeak? is this bad?

well my car squeaks like a **** too, but it's because its slammed and its a 2000 civic coupe ... if your ride is lowered.. it might be it.. look into some shocks and stabilizers?

 

it's a 92 HB CX. i am riding on tokico blues with skunk coil

yeah, mine squeaks too. a 98 civic coupe. it's more like a crackling sound on the roof area. only happens once in a while.

 

I wouln't worry about it at all, I would go underneath there to have everything checked out but that's it.


Keep in mind that not only the age of the car but also the fact that you do not have any sound deadening material on your car. You will hear everything. I have a 1992 VX and a 1999 Si and everytime I hop in the 1999 I feel like Im in a limo because is so quiet inside compared to the VX.

I have noticed this too. When I originally asked how old it was, I just figured maybe it was age more than anything causing the squeaks. Panels get loose with time, etc.

 

mine squeaks too if im coming off steep driveways at an angle. ie: coming out of a gas station and merging onto a blvd ... comes from the C pillar area. sounds like the chassis is twisting =/ like the titanic when it was beginning to sink. hurts me to hear it. 96 civic coupe. stock suspension. would a rear strut tower bar alleviate some of the squeaks? now shocks?
