4th Gen Suspension Question
yea today i decided to change the rear two suspension, and i unbolt the 2 bolts on top and then the bolt on the shock to the control arm, and i couldnt figure out a way to take it out.... i tried having someone jump on the brakes and i didnt have enough room to slip the shock off the arm, umm i dropped 3 CRXs and drop/raise my old 94 Accord, i dont remember having this trouble, like if i step on the brake hard enough it should slide open, anyways i lost daylight so i couldnt do anything, imma gonna do it first thing in the morning, and i was wondering if anyone of you guys can give me any hints on the EASIEST way to take out the rear shocks, even the front since tomorrow i will do that too , hehe imma gonna search on this topic now, but since this is time sensitive thats why i posted this just incase i cant find out what i am looking for, please help!
If memory serves, its just a pain. I've done the same thing. Its that or seporate a ball joint or control arm. Both are equally a pain to do. Just keep doing what you're doing and it'll work. On the front, just remove the shock tower and damper fork bolts. Then its pretty easy.
Advice for the day: If you ever have to remove a rear control arm, reverse the direction the bolts go in. It makes them easier to remove.

yea i guess, but when i was working on it earlier the preludes suspension looks more complicated than of the civics and accords, i am sure i can take the inner bolt off, but the other one which is right under the brakedisc, it looks like its those bolt with the pin like i know those are very hard to take out so i dont want to go there, if i loosen the side i can, it wont give me more than 1 inch cuz the exhaust pipe is right there, hopefully i will get lucky tomorrow, i wont have anyone helping me jumpping on it so i guess i will have to get the control arm out....
From the truck of your car, take your upper rear control arm bolts loose, and knock the control arm down and rotate the suspension out of the way via balljoint... Make sure you do both rear shocks at the same time, so your swaybar doesn't bind anything up... Thats about it.. Also, taking the rear dust shields off the rotors makes it 10X easy to work on rear suspenion/brakes...
