Is 205/50/15 the best tire size?
guys,
I am ready to buy a set of Falkens for next year. I have a set of Kosei K1's that they will be going on, so in theory I could get a bigger tire, but would it cause any problem? Is it worth getting a bigger tire as I learn and do HPDE's? Thanks!

Unless this is a dedicated autocross/HPDE wheel and tire set, I would stick with 205/50 15. I daily drive on these currently, and they are wider than the average 205, more like a 215.
Anyway, if you daily drive on another set, then 225s may be a good choice (increased grip AND weight).

225s definitely will fit on a 7" wide rim, but there probably will be a lot of tire hanging off the edge (like my 205s on 6.0" wide wheels). Too much tire for a certain wheel can reduce turn-in feel and give a less precise driving experience. But there is the added lateral grip.
I dunno...good question

225s work on 6" wheels too

i already have
RJ - uses these for autocross (stock class wheel width limitation) and would stuff 245's on there if he thought the tire shop didnt hate him enough already

Its kind of a mute point because I just looked and they don't make 215 or 225 in 15". Oh well I just ordered the 20/50/15 from Disount tire direct for $68 each shipped! Can't beat that!
Good price. I ordered them from DT while I was working there (I'm supposed to get it like 10-5% above cost), and it was like $70 a piece (no shipping).
I personally l00bed his tires after that...j/k...maybe...
