Default It took the new owner of my car 3 weeks to blow it up

I sold my car the day before thanksgiving, thinking I was selling to at least a half decent buyer. Turns out he decided to take my muffler off(i got cel the time i did it for system too lean) and probably didnt check the oil as regularly as I suggested. A friend of mine saw it at the local acura dealership, and asked what was wrong. Apparently the motor blew but they didnt say why, and the guy didnt want them to try and start it. wtf? anyway, not my problem any more, just sad to see my old car go down like that.

Man that sucks. Well, one way to look at it. Could have been a problem in the motor, since it did not make the power we expected, and you sold it just in time...
I know that sounds mean, but it is a possible way to look at it. He want another ITR? Hehehe...

Most likely cause: "Money shift" (downshifted into the wrong gear and overrevved the engine)

Second most likely cause: Insufficient oil

In either case, bottom line: Driver error

bah i pulled money shift twice w/o problems(besides breaking pressure plate of clutch 1st time), jun valvetrain owns he probably just ran it lean for too long and didnt check oil

heh, probably the 5-2, altho i dont see how...its gotta be noticeable when youre downshifting. Not really a loss on my part, but im glad it didnt blow when i had it. Heh, I only put around 250 in parts and made 17whp, cant complain it was still slow tho

Some people need to be taken out and beaten with a garden hose to knock some common sense back in them.

This sounds like a problem a friend of mine is going to be going through.

He bought my 2nd gen integra off me and wanted to do some of "his" own work, involving me to pull the engine and do some body work on it. His paretns want him to get rid of the 2nd gen integra and they'll buy him a 1995 Integra Special Edition with a GS-R engine in it.

The car is owned by a teacher at my skool and it has 200,000km+ on it.

once he get's rid of the 2nd gen integra, his parents are going to buy him the Integra SE and he's gonna blow up the engine and mess that decent car up.

I am hoping he dosen't buy it because I don't want to see him destroy and "rice-up" a decent car.

hehe, but get this, acura doesnt even want to touch it from what ive been told. They pulled the motor and said they didnt want to do anything with it due to the amount of modification done to it, sucks for him
