I went to see Lord of the Rings at the new AMC at Bay St Mall in Emeryville.
I parked in the parking structure, right next to the elevators.

When I got back to the car I noticed my alarm had went off. I did a quick check and everything seemed fine. I figured a car probably set it off.

Then I noticed that next to the post (I parked next to one) there was what looked like a hanger straighted out w/ a crook on one end. I was thinking "****!!!"

I looked around my windows, key holes, paint, etc and everything looked fine.

Lesson I learned is to never park the R in Emeryville at all!!

lucky it was an in-experienced thief....unfortunatly if he had known what he was doing....when you got out of that movie it would have been a totally different outcome... glad to see everything was ok

I know which theater you are talking about. Never park your R there, I don't even drive my Teg there for lunch, even though Pixar is only ten minutes away. My co-worker got his 98 gsr stolen while he went inside to order food. It wasn't even 10 minutes.

 

Bahh, I park my car where ever I go. I'm not going to change what I do in fear of someone taking my car. Then the thieves win whether they get your car or not.

i work at a damn mall and since the R is the only car i have, it's stuck there. what makes it scary is that last year a PY got stolen from the same parking lot i park at . but i only drive there on rainy days. on dry days, i take the beater supra 6-speed

 

I've parked in the exact same spot that a 98 was stolen from before.

actually i think 98 CW R was just stolen from the same parking lot..when i started working there, i've seen it a couple of times(i know she works there, but i've never met her)...now it's gone all of a sudden

That's subjective. My car has been stripped, and I agree with the fact that most people worry to much.

that mall parking lot is not even operating 100% yet! it just opened like what, 1 month ago? and already theives are inside it?
