first question is the legality of it. my EK hatch has 75K, and all the SI clusters i have found are under 40K. now, can i report this change to the CA DMV and not get in any trouble?

second, is it plug and play? cluster skrews in, then all guages work, including tachometer? thanks.

 

yes will plug and play, you can swap over your odometer to keep your mileage.

 

What year is the EK? Is that a direct fit for a 97?

 

i think the 99-00 si cluster will fit any 96-00 civic

 

the si gauge cluster will plug and play into any 96-00 civic. I personally have a 96 dx and i have a si cluster in there right now.just drops right in.

 

Everything will fit except the cruise control plug.

 

if you dont want to change the odometers out, look for a local odometer specialist. i found one in the yellow pages and they can legally change the mileage of any car with proof of current mileage (ex. receipt from oil change or service where mileage is document, or just let them swap the whole cluster for u.) the shops are hard to find but worth it. my Si was stolen and the cluster was yanked, insurance gave me a cluster with 0 miles (new) and i had to legally fix it in order to ever sell it without lying about mileage, good luck!
