Anybody got a lead on a semi-beater 92-95 CX???
Mileage and cosmetics unimportant, but it needs to be running and never been wrecked. No rust either.
Southeastern US.
Anybody?

Sooner or later everyone will come to their senses and realize the hatch is where it's at. You'd better hurry and get yours before the ricers ruin them all...

ON topic....
Scott, there is a 91 5 speed DX teal hatch up at my work in VA for $2400. (90k miles, *good* condition...)
Probably more than you want to spend and a DX but that's my lead.

Sometimes the cars that are selling at work are a bit... optimistic in their pricing.
Andy - who had sticker shock at a gorgeous blue stock 96 M3 with 70,000 miles for ONLY $34,000...

A '91 DX is a very bad choice. ITA, and not a good one.
92-95 for a reason.
CX for a reason.
But thanks anyway.

ITA? aren't 88-91 non-si civics ITC?

I have no idea, there are 2 dealers asking over 5,000 for a 92 and 93CX. yes CX not even the Si, those are over 6K!!!!! Its insane.
Those older Honda hatches are going up in $$. You might have better luck finding a 88-91 STD. I don't know what would be the faster ITC car, but probably the 92-95 Cx because of the better injection system.

I can't see how a CX model would be the thing to have in ITC. The CX motor is the 8 valver and is low hp (like maybe 80?). Whats worse, is the tranny has loooooong gearing. Like, I mean its top speed might be higher in third than fourth gear (much less fifth)!
My DX (d15b7 motor, 102 hp) was no barn burner when it was bone stock, but it was liveable to drive. The CX I test drove was a slug.
I can't believe that the CX would be the stuff in ITC, especially when there are all those older VWs running around in there....
I may quite possibly be totally wrong!!!!!!
good luck in your search!

that thing still for sale? damn... good looking hatch.
Yeah, makes my 127K mile 93 Dx 5-speed I am selling look like a steal at $4000 + extras.
In IT you can change the final drive, so the 5-speed CX would maybe be better than the 4-speed 88-91 STD. Although, the 92-95 is a heavier car. What's the weight minimum in ITC? At least the FD would make the car somewhat peppy in race trim, but yeah--not nearly as fast as the 92-95 Dx. But that's why the DX is in ITA.
But the Honda's are the new car to have in ITC it seems. The VW's have had longer prep time.
And yeah, hatch is still for sale. Although I haven't been pushing it too hard.

A pretty favorable min. weight, 5-spd vs 4-spd, FI vs carbs, longer wheelbase, wider track, yadda yadda

Scott, wondering if that was a trick question.
