What part is this? I know it's part of the braking system, just wondering exactly what it is. Thanks

 

that would be the back side of your proportioning valve.

 

That's what I thought, I ripped it from a 98 teg in the junkyard, but just wondering if I can use it on my civic when I finish my brake swap. Is there anyway of telling what it's from? I didnt' see any 4040 or 3040 or anything like that stamped on it anywhere.

 

ummm..you ripped it from a 98 teg, wouldn't that be what it was from?
assuming the car looked stock.
i don't know anything about the markings on prop valves, i will go home tonight and look at some of mine. i'll IM you if i find out anything.

 

EDIT: I've learned after much searching and reading that it must be from an ABS teg, since it only has 4 lines, thus it won't work on my civic.
