Default I NeeD you help!! My car took a DUMP!!

Alright, on my back from lunch, a make a turn. As I make this turn, my car all of a sudden shuts off!! I try to start it back up, but it won't fire up. I check the spark plug wires going into the distrubutor and one wasn't all the way in. I pull it out, and stuff it back in. I try to fire it back up, and it still won't start. It sounds like it will start, but it will crank. I need your help!! What should I do?? Thanks Guys

Weird. This is a dumb question, but you do have gas right? Sorry, just had to ask.... maybe it could be your fuel pump?? You say that it sounds like it wants to start but won't turn over? It could be that you need to clean out the gunk in your throttle body. Happened to me one time when I had my Accord. The car cranked up and went about half way out of the garage and cut off. Then, it wouldn't start again like it was flooded or something. I popped off the intake and sprayed gum out into the throttle body and it worked. Maybe it's that simple or maybe not.

Yeah, I'd say check the throttle body, its happened to me before... and just check all the connections.

That happened to me once. I slammed on my brakes at a light and my car shut off. It wouldnt restart so me and friend got it turned around. We happened to be at the top of a decent sized hill so we pushed to car a little to get it going, hopped back in and jumped started it by popping the clutch in 2nd and it started right up. And it never did it again. The point it, it may just be a fluke.

Just the other day I had to brake hard and when I came to a stop my car was off. It turned it over and it started just fine. It was just weird.

Turn your car to A/C and listen to see if you hear the fuel pump turn on. You most likely will be able to hear it turn on, and then turn off when you turn the key off. Also try checking your fuses for a short. It might also be your distributor. Usually if it's your distributor, your car will struggle for a little bit before it dies. Good Luck.
