Hey guys, if you havent noticed im in the middle of installing a jdm itr front end on my friends gsr... heres my problem... the hood release cable on the gsr isnt long enough to wrap around and go into the release from the opposite side....what did you guys do to fix this....is there any specific release cable you guys picked up to replace it?>

 

You need 90-93 Integra hood release cable. I'm pretty sure of it.

 

we just ran to the honda dealership and they're all retarded. I mention integra...oh no honda parts will work on an integra....(when i was talking to them on the phone)...so i went there and proved that bastard wrong...we have a 00 accord hood release....just have to make a minor little adjustment on it....nothing major...

 

when i had m frontend i used a 01-02 accord try thatiots lonenough try it

 

It works. Got mine at the junkyard for $5.00

 

I need to take at rip to a junk yard sool for a cable also.

 

The one import junkyard here wanted 25 dollars....*******....just because they would have to go out and rip it off a car.....bastards....

 

the itr hood release should be relocated to your passenger side of the car and be ran from the right side thats it do that dont need a new cable ... hope thats helps and you should get another hood look and hide it some where else cause some times people relocate the cable wrong and the hood pops up when driving

 

hrmmm... ill keep an eye out for that...thanks....we should finish today....then we drive around pimp in his 1/2 milano red and 1/2 fbp integra...lol we'll beat on the hood a bit to see if its sturdy and what not.....we'll see...and also the rhd ****...i never thought about that...lol...thats why the cable is too short....

so just to verify before i buy a 1998-2001 honda accord hood release cable will work for a jdm itr front?

This is your fix.... tried and tested!

 

Yeah i know the DA works but i can get a 98-01 accord today for $15 versus a 90-93 teg that i have to order from the dealer and it will be a few days for $30. The 98-01 accord is the better option for me here if it will work.
