best turbo for 2000 civic DX?
I just installed my Gude performance head-package and I'm considering adding a turbo kit in the near future. What is the best application: Fmax, Rev-hard, Drag, Others? I'm looking for something that is streetable.
my vote is custom kit, but if you dont want the hassle rev-hard has really good mfg quality and max rev also...talk to 2k_teg, tony1, or b18bturbo...they have what you're looking for
stock gsr with cams@ stock settings
why are you mad? those are actually really good cams for turbo apps...

Ok, first off, we are gonna do a swap in the dx but still not sure which one. I was just curious what was done to the 2000 dx. As for my car, its a stock motor with 2001 ITR cams. I am mad cuz it could be better, as always............hehe

Thanks for everyones input. I've contemplated doing an engine swap with a B18 or H22A, but just can't bring myself to doing that. Call me crazy, but for some odd reason I've just grown attached to my little SOHC non-vtech. I guess it is like watching a child grow up. When I brought that car home I was seriously depressed. I had just sold my '93 Mazda Rx-7 which had 255 stock horses, and was driving a car that only had 106
. So the impetus for modifications began.
To answere some questions about what has been done to my car in the order in which they took place, here goes:
Injen tube-style air-intake, Accell 8.5mm ignition wires, Greddy Evo exhaust, AEM underdrive pullys, DC-sports headers 4-2-1, 17" ADR GT-Sport wheels wrapped in Nitto 555R Extreems, Skunk2 Racing Coil-over adjustable springs, Skunk2 rear sway-bar, APC carbon-fiber hood, Z3-fenders, Alteza tails, Projector headlights, Tsunami front bumper-cover, Gude performance head package (throtle body, intake manifold, head, cam), AEM cam-gear.
Before the head-package I was runnin' 16.5 in the quarter, which isn't stellar, but quite an improvement for the stock 18-19 seconds that my car ran.
I'm still tunning my engine as it isn't quite right yet after the head swap. I've got to adjust the ignition timing and advance or retard the cam. I'll proly just go get it dyno tuned.
I'll mostlikely set up a stand alone ECU before slapping a turbo kit on my car, but again I'm going to stay true to my DX. It'll just make it hurt more to be beat by a DX.
Anything else that you guys suggest me doing before adding a turbo?

Sell your bolt-ons, get a used GReddy kit for $1000 and make sure you have an IC. Buy a set of 440-450cc injectors and an AFC and upgrade to a 2.5"DP and 3" catback. Enjoy your new lease on life..
I like the idea of going with the Greddy, however, they don't make a kit for the DX. Yes, the EX and DX power plants are virtually identical, except for the intake manifold, throttle-bodie and variable valve timing, and Greddy makes a kit for the EX, but I'd rather have a kit that was made specifically for my engine, and wouldn't require a bunch of retro fitting. I appreciate the suggestion though. Greddy is one of my favorite auto parts manufactures, and I've called them and asked if they would ever make a DX turbo kit, but they wouldn't tell me if they were or weren't. Having a DX sux 'cause there aren't as many DX owners modifying their engines as EX or SI owners, and therefore there is less of a market for companies to produce DX parts. Oh well. There are plenty of rice-a-roni parts to choose from, however, like giant wings, rims that keep spinning even after a car has stopped and under-cariage neon kits, since those make a car so much faster. I know I know, style is important too, but I like to keep it tasteful. I'm sure many agree, and many might disagree too. Thank God we live in a free country where we can agree to disagree. Anyone need some soi-sauce for their rice? peace.
