Anyone have pix of formula style side mirrors mounted on production (race) car?
I've seen pictures before on the internet or in a magazine and I can't recall where. I think some of the BTCC vehicles, or a similar series had formula style side mirrors mounted in the stock location. I searched yahoo, and this site but didn't come up with anything. I'm looking for pictures of formula style mirrors mounted in the stock, or similar location on a production based 2 or 4dr car.

After literally a few hours searching around.....oddly enough I found some pictures after searching for "mirrors" of all things. Who woulda thunk?!
I guess I'll post up the links I found in case anyone is curious in the future:

if theyre smaller, i would think it would detract from the point of having the mirrors, less visibilty, bigger blind spots. *unless* theyre larger, of course.

I once suffered thru a book on the development of the Ford Taurus. In it their fight over the mirror design was outlined. Flipper fin type mirrors cost significant drag (I presume it was enough to influence the rounding to the nearest 100th on the CD). These pedestal/standoff type mirrors are much better. Sure we are only talking about a small fraction of the total drag, but it's one of the few fractions of it's type that we have much control over.
Scott, who suggests that having no external mirrors at all, and using mirrors attached to the front cage downtubes just inside the cockpit (like some of the SCCA GT cars I've seen) might be the best solution....

Thanks for the extra links Marc. This isn't a project of mine yet, but just researching for the future.
