arriving at our lowered destination...
okay ive decided to get Ground-Control coilovers and I wanna get Koni shocks.... but i realized konis cost a bit too (like $100+/each right?). You guys think my stock shocks can be ok for a few months ? I will however buy Konis after a couple months.
BTW:I will only be dropping the front by about an 1.2 inches and back by like 0.6 inches. tia

Don't get Konis. I dont know about Honda.. but I have Koni's on my GST and I can say they are a PITA. You can't adjust the rears without removing them. Go with KYB AGX like he recommend, or even Tokico. Tokico's are very good shocks, and cheaper than Koni.

My shocks have lasted 2 months so far on a 2" drop. The shocks are noticeably bouncier than when I first put the springs on, but they aren't dead yet.

i am doing same thing you are thinking about only i am half way thier i have the coiloves installed and that was 3 months ago driving on stock struts and waiting for more money to the the adj struts , koni as well, my sturts have held up rather well considering i am going to school in detroit on half *** roads. i barely dropped the car. for now i am rather happy with the results just in need of strut bars and struts in the spring.
WARNING--Ground
Control sleeves are machined specifically for KONI only or for other brands. MAke sure of what you want to do here. If the sleeves you have are for Koni "yellow" shocks-wait to get them. This is real important.
Another thing-I afree with others who are urging you to wait and do the whole project at one time. You have no idea what you are getting into moneywise or time wise if you do it yourself. Every time you take the suspension apart means a visit to the alignment shop-Toe in is affected by any modification to the suspension.
The drop you plan is very conservative and should cause you no problems. If you go lower (like to 1.5" or more) then Camber WILL be an issue. Anothr good reason to wait is the 2 visits you WILL make to the alignment shop if you go lower than 1.2" you are talking about. Why-first time to get the numbers and the second after the Camber kits are installed.
Good luck andhappy holidays

you can get tein ss or ha for about that price...a true coilover and have springs already matched...why would you bother with gc and koni? If you got that cash...get TEIN! got mine for 875
You can get them from alot of places for 875...i got mine from AIE-auto image enhancment...you can email the guy i got it off...he is a good guy...very good communication...won't dodge your emails...<adam@aieonline.com>
as in the email..his name is adam...but really there are alot of places you can get the teins for about the price..maybe $900 shipped...this is for the Tein SS....the Tein HA is about $950 to 970 shipped...and trust me you don't need any better shocks for the street...
you can buy $2000 dollar Teins if you want...they are just for strictly racing though, with really high spring rates and valving that would not be fun on the street!

i wanted adjustable springs, as in i can ride high during the week and drop that shiet wen i go to the track, i heard the GC's u dont have to take off to adjust, and i think koni yellows will go nicely with those,
thats my plan at least.....

hey that's crazy ... so this is just the Tein SS coilovers themselves for 900 or so ? and these are better than Ground Controls ?
This is a coilover adjustable spring that is built onto the shock...a complete system...they are also rebuildable and you can order new springs at about $50 each when you want to upgrade to higher spring rate if you want...so go with the teins...you won't regret it! Yes $900 shipped! go read up on them...search the net!
if you going to have a grand save i would suggest you get the tein's too...
I got HA for a little over a grand about the same you planning to expend on your set up...
