Precision Racing Organization...
There was a blurb in this months GRM about this new organization putting on autocross events all over the country. The website just went live today...

I saw that GRM article, too, and was intrigued by what they're proposing to do. Sounds pretty slick... Glad that Atlanta is one of their venues so I'll get to check things out.
After looking through the class listings, things are both good and bad for SCCA autocrossers wanting to try it out. First if you are in ST classes things are good. If you are in any Mod class then it seems bad. PRO basically wants you to keep the interior and a lot of other things... An SCCA Street Mod Class car might not be legal it seems, and a mod or prepared class car has nowhere to go.

ST classes are the wave of the future it seems, which is not a bad thing.
If any venues are in the midwest, I'll be there. The money looks good, and I won't need to change anything on my STX car. If anything, I can add a few mods. It is very sweet that they allow you to use aftermarket steering wheels in even the stock class (on any car).
The SCCA should take note of this, especially for ST.

Hey Todd, it looks like there are a few events close by. 3 at BeaveRun, PA, 2 in Indiana at the Tirerack and one in Ohio not specified.
But you may hate this rule:
2.3.1 The stock brake caliper must be used.

Hmmm, I like this. Suddenly a Celica GTS is *the* car to have (though there will be some Cooper S and RSX drivers that will argue with me).

They even carried over this stupid rule:
"2.5.6 Motor mounts and engine locators sold by either the original manufacturer or their motorsports subsidiary are allowed."

No update/backdate rules....Makes life so much easier...
Once again though only 2 street tire classes. I would have figured on a power/weight ratio or some other formula for all the Improved Street cars and create at least 4 classes. FWD up to 3.1L, AWD, FWD LSD, FWD MOD. Mod being a run whatcha brung class that requires street tires, valid registration and insurance everything else is legal...
to the series sponsors and payouts...

C'mon Casey. You know you'll be there.

another set of rules, another set of classes to get confused with. Seems they copied alot of the SCCA rules rather than come up with something entirely original.
This is probably good as it will draw existing SCCA competitors into their events. Maybe ill check it out.
