change clutch engagement point?
i still have the stock clutch on my 2000 itr, 30k miles. the thing is, the clutch seems to engage way too high, right near the end of the stroke. it has always been like this. every other car i have drivin engages nice and low. feels much smoother doing it that way. is there anyway i can lower the engagement point on my clutch?
thanks,

Go to acura, tell them you want the clutch to engage closer to the floor, requires 1-2 twists of a screw behind the dash, and when they have adjusted the engagement point so that is engages closer to the floor, have them take out the slack at the top of pedal rest position, this might require them having to ghetto rig something to get the necessary adjusting ability because my tech said the screw was not long enough to take up the slack, so he got a longer one, and was able to take out the free play. my clutch engages 1.5-2" closer to the floor now and there is no slack in the clutch when its resting.

would something like that be covered under warranty? (i am still covered under my full bumber-bumber warranty) if not, how much would it cost?
I think it takes a 12mm wrench to do this task & a 14mm on the "TAKE UP THE SLACK BOLT". I found if the SLACK bolt isn't long enough, take it out remove the locking bolt, screw the SLACK bolt back in & put the locking bolt on the other side towards the pedal arm. I've done this for years in all the cars I have.
yup.. i used a 12 and a 14mm, a set of kneepads and lamp.... and just get under your dash. you'll see the nuts you have to adjust. play around with it. lastly, listen and make sure your clutch isn't grinding when the pedal is down all the way.
