Stripped Screws
This isnt my week first i break a wheel stud now while trying to fix it, I strip both philips screws that hold the rotor to the hub. The screws stripped with very minimal effort. It is by far the most brittle material I have ever encountered. Maybe all the heat from the road raing events fried them or something. Anyways does anyone have any suggestions on how to take the screws out? Im going to try those craftsman stripped screw removing bits, but I doubt they will work since the screws just crumble.
No don't use those. I don't know about everyone else but they didn't do sh_t for me. Go to Sears Hardware or some other hardware store and purchase an Easy-Out(sp?). You will need to drill a hole into the screw first with a smaller drill then take an easy-out and tap handle and screw it into the hole you just drilled until it backs the stripped screw out. Basically an easy-out looks like a reversed thread tool (a.k.a. tap). There are different sizes so have someone help you pick the right size. Hope this helps.
umm no dont do that...go get a reverse socket for stripped bolts...trust me it works and you might even be able to save those screws. ive done that before!
What do you recommend for stripped screws on the vapor canister i have a 2000 honda accord dx and cant get my car inspected till i get that part out and i feel like ive tried everything
