both your options suffer from poor build quality. An aquantance has the 12r and it broke down on him 3 times in a transeurope ride this last summer. The busa and 12s are fast and torqy, but they're not Hondas. Just be ready. They make great first bikes too:D

 

A buddy of mine owns a Kawi dealer, he had a demo 12R for 2 full seasons, everyone and their dog rode it, hard, it dynoed 163 at the wheel with a full Muzzy.
I don't like them personally, not my thing, seems like a good bike though, just like almost any modern bike....
If you are looking for a hyperspeed sport/tourer, a Busa or 12R would be mint.

I think the Gixxer 1k is scary enough

 

I think he had a ZX-6R before. It was in his sig (a long time ago) if I remember correctly.

 

I'd get the CBR1100XX. They make a turbo kit for it too

...and (if looking for a used one) I think they have an older more mature owner base as compared to the Busas.

 

The 1100xx sucks. The 12r and busa blow it out of water. I'd get the 12r over the busa but the busa does look much better.

We're talking turbos, its a whole different ballgame.

 

It is fairly simple:

Reliability -> XX by far, then ZX and then Busa
Availability of turbo parts -> Busa, then XX and then ZX 12.
Handling ZX, Busa and then XX
All around useability: XX, busa and zx being kinda equal.

Usually people who say the XX sucks have not ridden one.

 

zx12r eats clutches.... my buddy's 00 12r has gone through 3 in the past 6k miles and it isnt his riding, there is a problem with clutch stack height that kawasaki doesnt want to recall.

In high performance applications they both will require either a clutch lockup kit and or modified "stronger" clutch baskets.

My buddy works at rpm motorsports they make drag bikes and sell hi performance parts like that. The mechanic that works there was talking to my buddy about the clutch issues with the 12r and my buddy got pissed and said he was gonna trade the 12r on a busa and the mechanic informed him that the clutch on the busa has the same problems......

I have been riding since 1993 and had 1 accident.... so controlling the bike isnt the issue...

OMG a TURBO ZX12.... yikes. I have been having thoughts of getting the Mr. Turbo turbo kit for my ZX9, but from what I've read a turbo bike is just plain out of control!! check out this link for a sick ZX11 turbo and the rider's opinions...
