Default best i\h\e for b18c5

I am just doing some pricing on some parts, but I am looking for the best set-up for the b18c5 that will give me very good power and reliability and also for the exhaust part I am looking for a very "stock looking" exhaust.
I've got about 3000 dollars to spend , so can you guys guve the best options possible.

sure......

intake = 3 " pipe all the way from intercooler

header = cast iron turbo manifold....ported

exhaust = 3" downpipe, stock exhaust can still on to distract po-po's

Chosing the best i/h/e means you will have to first decide which route you are going with the car, NA/FI. Once you decide this then it will be easier to help you choose a setup that will fit your budget.

There is no 'best'. There are group of 'best' intakes, headers and exhausts, but they all depend on application, etc.

if it was me, and i was a high roller with 3k to spend on i/h/e id go with a mugen intake, and a full sms or full hytech exaust header back exaust, and then youll have almost enough left over for a vafc

Truely there will be "no best" setup but recommendation is as followed.

Intake
-Mugen
-AEM
-J's

Header
-Spoon
-T1R

Exhaust
-Spoon Sports
-T1R test pipe and b-pipe
*since you wanted stock look.

George is always helpful and never negative. He always tries to inform instead of bash. That's why I think he has that percentage. But hell I would give up that percentage to bash on newbies any day of the week!! Just playing. George is the man!

intake - comptech icebox + foam filter (
header - toda or smsp
cat - hiflow cat - carsound
exhaust - 63.5mm stainless steel mandrel bent piping with no bottleneck, straight through resonator and 63.5mm straight through muffler. - brand name? type one seems to meet these specs, or go custom with good exhaust shop.

could be well under $2000

or... go with the following
intake = 3 " pipe all the way from intercooler

header = cast iron turbo manifold....ported

exhaust = 3" downpipe, stock exhaust can still on to distract po-po's

You're going to be getting a lot of different opinons.
This is true...

<u>Headers</u>:
Best Buy:
OEM JDM 4-1 (<u>OEM</u>)
Best Overall: SMSP, Hytech, Spoon, Toda (More power but expensive)
There is no "best" header...because what is "best" will vary depending on the application and personal preference. For instance, many people would probably argue that a DC JDM 4-1 is a better buy than the OEM JDM 4-1, or that the Comptech race header is better overall than the HyTech header it is modeled after because it offers the same performance for less money. Remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

<u>Intakes</u>:
Best Buy:
Comptech Icebox
Best Overall: Comptech Icebox
Again, this is subjective...and why do you say the Comptech is best overall? The Mugen intake dynoed better than the Comptech or anything else, and has the best throttle response too.

All these answers you're getting are personal opinions, you know, based on the individual user's results. After spending a lot of time and money on the famous Great Header Test, there still isn't an actual consensus on the board
Good point.

you don't want internals do you? cause if you do, i doubt you'll pass. Carsound cats are CARB legal and SHOULD pass smog. it may not pass visual, unless SMSP or HYTECH gets CARB exempted.

then again, i live in california, MD may be different. emissions laws suck here.
